Composition Search is an independent, informational tool. It collects as little as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking. This policy explains the limited data it handles.
Searches
The ISRC you enter is sent to the service to run a lookup. An ISRC is a public recording identifier, not personal information, and it is not linked to you.
Feedback
If you mark a result as a good or bad match, we store your verdict along with the registration and confidence shown, plus a random anonymous identifier generated in your browser (see the local storage section below) so the same result isn’t counted twice. No name, email, or account is involved.
Technical data
Your IP address is processed transiently to rate-limit and protect the service from abuse, and may appear in standard server logs, which are retained only briefly.
Cover art
Album art is fetched from Deezer’s public API using the ISRC. That request is made by our server, not your browser.
When you submit feedback, a random identifier (cf_voter) is stored in your browser’s local storage to prevent duplicate votes. It contains no personal information and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
No accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking cookies, no third-party trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
The service is hosted on servers located in the European Union (Germany). If you are in the EU/EEA, the legal basis for the limited processing above is our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the tool.
You can clear the local identifier via your browser, and you can contact us to ask about the anonymous feedback data. Because feedback is not tied to your identity, we may be unable to link specific records to you.
